No More Taxi Service With Car Sharing Insurance!

Your darling son or daughter has a driving licence but no car so still relies on you for lifts. Read on to find out how Car Sharing Insurance can give you and your kids freedom.

Most parents spend 17 years waiting for their child to be old enough to transport themselves around and about. On their 17th birthday you gleefully present them with a provisional licence and a block of lessons, and even let them practice in your car. You wait for the day you no longer have to be their personal taxi driver.

A new driver in the house

Alas, passing the test is but the first hurdle and most new drivers cannot afford to purchase and insure a car of their own straight away. After all, insurance premiums for young drivers can run into the thousands.  This can be a little disheartening for newly qualified drivers who are eager to hit the road solo.

Although parents may want to help their children by contributing towards the cost of a car and insurance, for many this is not a feasible option (see extremely high cost mentioned above). Some parents decide to add their children to their own car insurance policy so they can drive it occasionally. However, it can be very expensive to add a new driver to your policy. Depending on how often they’ll drive your car, this may not be cost effective option. Additionally if a named driver does have an accident, your own policy and No Claims Bonus will be affected.

Car Sharing Insurance: an easy, affordable solution

Veygo offers an easy, affordable solution with Car Sharing Insurance. The on-demand, temporary insurance can be purchased quickly online; it takes less than two minutes to get a quote. Veygo makes it easy for anyone to borrow your car… if you’ll let them! Cover is available from as little as one hour right up to 30 days so they only need to pay for the time they need.

Peace of mind

Veygo offers fully comprehensive cover so you can rest easy knowing that your child and your car are covered. The driver’s temporary insurance is completely separate to the main policy.  This means if they need to claim, your own policy and hard-earned No Claims Bonus are not affected!

Speaking of No Claims Bonus…

As an experienced driver you know the importance of building up No Claims Bonus. For each policy term you complete without making a claim, you earn an extra year and receive extra discount.  You will usually lose the bonus and the discount if you claim against your policy.

Starting to build No Claims Bonus is often a deciding factor for young drivers thinking about buying a car. Buying and insuring a car is a huge expense at first but lays the groundwork for future discount if they avoid accidents.

Car Sharing Insurance allows the driver to build up their own No Claims Bonus (NCB). Just drive claim free for more than 30 days in 12 months using the cover. A discount will be applied to any new Car Sharing policies as soon as the 30 days are completed. The driver will also be able to use the No Claims Bonus to get a discount on Admiral, Bell, Diamond or Elephant policies of their own one year after the policy has ended.

Car Sharing Insurance is the perfect way for new drivers to keep on top of their driving skills. Just as importantly they can enjoy the freedom driving brings! They can save up for a car of their own, knowing that when they eventually reach their goal their insurance will be a little less expensive. For mum and dad, it means that those driving lessons were not a waste of money and you can start to think about retiring from the taxi business for good!
