The world’s most desired supercars
6 of the most desired supercars right now, and the supercar each country searches for most.
Most of us have a dream car, and for many it’s a supercar: among the fastest, most powerful and best-looking cars on the road. Here are 6 that sum up the supercar world right now, followed by our study of which supercar each country searches for most.
6 of the most desired supercars right now
Porsche 911 GT3
The track-focused 911. Its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six revs to 9,000rpm, and you can still have it with a manual gearbox, which keeps it a favourite with people who like to do the work themselves.
McLaren Artura
McLaren’s first series-production hybrid supercar pairs a twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor. It can drive short distances on electric power alone, so you can leave home quietly.
Bugatti Chiron
Powered by an 8.0-litre W16 with 4 turbochargers. In 2019 a modified Chiron reached 304.77mph, making Bugatti the first car maker to break 300mph. Bugatti built the last of its 500 Chirons in 2024.
Ferrari F80
Ferrari’s newest hypercar, revealed in 2024 as the successor to LaFerrari. It combines a twin-turbo V6 with electric motors, and only 799 will be built.
Audi R8
The everyday supercar. Its mid-mounted V10 was shared with the Lamborghini Huracán, and it was comfortable enough to drive every day. It topped our 2019 study in 95 countries, and Audi built the last one in 2024.
Lamborghini Revuelto
The successor to the Aventador keeps a V12 but adds 3 electric motors, making it Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid supercar, with more than 1,000hp.
The most searched supercar in each country
In 2019 we looked at which supercar each country searches for most, using the average monthly Google searches for 55 road-legal models released in the previous 10 years.

What we found
- The Audi R8 was the most searched supercar in 95 of 169 countries, including the UK, the US, Canada, Brazil, China and Australia.
- The Bugatti Chiron led in Russia and India, and the Lamborghini Aventador in Indonesia.
- The McLaren 675LT, Ford GT and Ferrari 458 were close behind on total searches.
- The 3 most popular makers, Audi, Bugatti and Lamborghini, were all part of the Volkswagen Group at the time.
How we did it
We chose 55 supercar models released in the 10 years before the study, leaving out concept cars and anything not road legal. Then we used the Keyword Explorer tool at Ahrefs to find each model’s average monthly Google searches in each country. Territories and countries with too little search data were left out. We published the research in February 2019.
You can see every model and country in our research spreadsheet.
