Absolutely amazing experience, could start driving straight away and it was an excellent price
Veygo’s really useful when I’m home from university to use my mum’s car. I take it out for a few days, or even for a few hours to run errands.
It’s an easy process to get insurance for as many days as I needed. Great value for a second driver on holiday.

You'll need a full and valid UK driving licence.
We can only cover you if you are between 17 and 75.
The car you're looking to insure can't be more than 30 years old.
Flexible, short term car insurance for provisional licence holders. Learn to drive in a friend or family member’s car from two hours to 90 days.
We offer two types of temporary cover: cover for your own car and cover to share a friend or family’s car. If you’re sharing a car, the car needs to have an annual insurance policy in place already.
You can buy anything from 1 hour up to 30 days. You may need to be added onto a family member’s policy for an airport run, or you may need to cover your new car before getting annual insurance; these are just a couple of ways you could use Veygo.
No. Dual insurance is when the same person has two active insurance policies on the same vehicle. As long as you’re not named on the car owner’s insurance, or any other insurance covering the car you want to learn in, you will not affect the existing cover and it won’t be dual insurance.
No. Our temp cover provides you with your own separate insurance for the car. Any claims you make won’t affect the car owner’s no claims bonus, so they don’t need to declare it on their insurance.
The accidental damage excess on most temporary cover insurance is set at £750 and some customers can choose a lower excess of £250, depending on you and/or your car’s details. The excess for a windscreen claim can be found in your insurance policy schedule, within your account.
In short, yes. Here's our basic age criteria...
As well as these basic age requirements, we have underwriting criteria, which is made up of lots of different factors. It's this criteria that works out your price and if you're eligible for cover when you quote.
As soon as you’ve driven 30 days claim free with our temporary cover (excluding learner driver) to reward you for your driving, you’ll automatically receive a discount inbuilt to your Veygo quotes. This is just for temp insurance and can’t be transferred to an annual insurance policy.
Although we don’t currently offer insurance policy extensions, you can quickly take out more insurance online. We save your details to make the process even easier the second time around – just make sure you log in first!
Yes. You can cancel your insurance policy via your account. Just go to My Documents, select the insurance policy you wish to cancel and hit End Policy. If your insurance policy is 30 days or less, there won’t be any refund due. For full terms and conditions, check out our Policy Book for the type of cover you have (temporary car insurance or car sharing insurance.)
Follow our step by step article on how to cancel your insurance policy.
We would love to cover everyone but unfortunately, our underwriting criteria means that sometimes we can’t offer insurance to somebody. We can’t give specifics, but it’s made up of lots of different factors, like car, age, experience and much more. Also, we don’t offer cover for outside of Great Britain, drivers with a non-GB licence or non-GB residents. To save you some time, our Customer Care team will be unable to provide further info on reasons for being declined cover. Sorry!
Yes. But it can take up to a week for the cover to show on the Motor Insurance Database.
There should already be an annual insurance policy on the car if it’s a learner driver policy or if you’re sharing a friend or family member’s car. This is a policy and if there isn’t an annual policy in place, your cover won’t be valid. Please get in touch at contact@veygo.com to cancel.
No, our insurance is only valid in England, Scotland and Wales.

Yes. You can get one day insurance with our temp cover. It’s completely flexible from 1 hour up to 30 days.
You can get short-term insurance for as little as one hour. So if you just need to dash out for something quick, we’ve got you covered.
We have a block on hourly insurance between 10pm and 5am. Basically, if you need cover to start or end between 10pm and 5am the duration of your policy has got to be at least 24 hours. But if your insurance is 24 hours or more then there is no curfew.
It depends on a number of things but you can check our estimated prices higher up on this page. Get a quote here.
Our temp insurance is for personal use not for business use. If you’re driving for business-related purposes you may be able to claim back your insurance premium. Business-related purposes may include using your car to pick up or deliver business supplies or driving to visit clients. Simply commuting to and from work, however, does not count as a business-related purpose.
You can! If you’re insuring your own car, you’ll need to have held a license for a minimum of 6 months. But if you’re borrowing someone else's car, we’ll cover you from the day you pass your test!
Most UK insurance policies only cover the people named on the insurance to drive the car that they’re insuring. If someone wants to borrow your car, you can either add them as a named driver or take out temp insurance.
